My first thought was sto block that comment, since it looked like a spam comment (lots of links etc..). And also because I don't have too much respect for agencies like web sheriff (especially when the name is so internet cowboy-like). But, there is nothing wrong with the comment itself.

I linked to http://theprodigy.com in my <a href="http://blog.elzapp.com/2008/11/28/new-track-from-the-prodigy.html" rel="nofollow">previous post</a>.

And at last. Yeah! ofcourse I support artists I like, I wouldn't like it if they stopped making the groovy tracks. Actually, my first thought was to buy the new track, but it seems that it was only available as a free download.

If you're not already using it you should check out pylint (http://www.logilab.org/857). It has significantly increased the quality of my python code. It doesn't work for dynamically generated classes, but you can add pylint: disable-msg= as a comment in the file to ignore messages you don't care about. I'm also using a vim compiler script for it (http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=891).

Well... A good pythonista or rubyist wouldn't use isinstance, but check if the object passed in possesses the properties used. This is sometimes hard though. And neither checking for properties nor using isinstance would solve the problem described above. The problem is that your code might run for years before this happens, and by then, you've started on another project, possibly even in another company, and even if not; you would possibly have a hard time figuring out what's really wrong and how to solve it. I have a rather good example of this, which I think I'll blog about soon

Don't forget isinstance. You can check types with isinstance(a, A) in python. I'm sure you could also define some decorator or metaclass magic to make the notation look more like a statically typed language, for instance giving a list of 2-tuples with names and types. I think I remember that Gnosis XML (http://freshmeat.net/projects/gnosisxml/) even has metaclasses for method/function overloading in python. You won't get errors at "compile" time though, so you need the unit tests anyway to test it outside actual runs.
